Chandler never played high school ball

Chandler is the son of former Marquette coach, Bill Chandler. Bill served as team co-captain on the 1942-43 squad. He averaged 6.7 points per game during the 1943-44 season and 10.5 points per game during the 1944-45 season.

Chandler was the first medical student to participate in a varsity sport at Marquette in more than a decade and entered Marquette's medical school just prior to the end of his senior season.
