+In 1987, Maskala was named to the Chicago Sun-Times All-State team and the Chicago Tribune's Third All-State team. That season, IHM made the Illinois Class AA state final and she helped Westchester Immaculate Heart of Mary hold off Massac County, which moved up from Class A, 45-43 despite losing their star forward to fouls.
