He also played on Marquette football team for two seasons.

Sauceda averaged 3.7 points per game.
1947-48
Sauceda upped his scoring average to 7.1 points per game.
1948-49
Sauceda averaged 5.9 points per game during his senior campaign.
Personal
He received a B.A. degree from Marquette in 1950, and M.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1952, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Madrid in Spain in 1960. Also, Sauceda became a member of the Marquette faculty in 1954 and served as an assistant professor of modern languages and a chairman of the university's athletic board.
On January 1, 1970, he became Marquette University's Athletic Director.
