Quote from: mug644 on February 18, 2025, 09:35:23 AMFeels critical to start strong and deflate energy that Seton Hall will certainly bring, following their exciting win over UConn. Don't let them get into the game and believe that can pull off another upset away from their home court.

Of course, MU hasn't exactly been a strong first half team throughout the season.

On the other hand, I had a dream last night that during the MU game I was at, we were up by 41 points in the first half. A guy can hope that happens tonight, right?
You certainly have high hopes. Or is it something you have been smoking. Perhaps the bong of that other guy?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

MU is not unique in that regard. Every team out there has given their fanbase reason to doubt.

Quote from: rocky_warrior on February 18, 2025, 09:29:02 AMHonestly, I don't necessarily trust MU to cover until I see them start playing better.  However, I'd take MU in this one since SHU is just a pretty bad team - despite their luck against UConn.

Regardless, staying away at -18.5.
Shaka isn't into running score for metrics, he will use a lot of the bench with a big lead tonight.

You only touch each other's bongs when you have both consented and there is trust and love in the relationship.

Yes, therefore MU likely won't cover 18.5

I actually think they're likely to cover.  But not willing to put my money up for it today.

Quote from: DoctorV on February 18, 2025, 12:05:02 PMEasy cover. They should have a bit of a letdown after their biggest win of the season and Marquette should come out with renewed sense of season.

Everything is still in the balance and I'm sure Shaka got that message across. If Marquette is flat again tonight I'll probably start to get a bit concerned.
Sneaky big week for the Golden Eagles when it comes to the season as a whole, time to start the push for how they want to play in a month

I think we'll play well and win the game comfortably, but I don't know about 18.5 points being an "easy cover."

A team can totally dominate a game and be up double digits from nearly start to finish without winning by 19 points. I mean, if Holloway keeps his rotation players in after Shaka subs in our walk-ons, a 28-point lead can get to 18 in a minute. We've seen it before.

Also, a team can "want it" and "focus" and all that other stuff and still not execute or shoot well enough to win. It wasn't as if Seton Hall was still sneaking up on UConn once the second half arrived Saturday. You don't think UConn was taking SH seriously and "motivated" when it was, say, 28-26 early in the second half?

When she is Seton around the house,

Admittedly a detour of the thread, but the "your mama" joke reminded me of my favorite one. I heard it on Prairie Home Companion when Garrison Keillor and Paula Poundstone were swapping mama jokes. Paula's prize winner?

"Your mama's so fat that when she hauls ass, she has to make two trips."
