They're screening the wrong player up top. You need to screen the guy furthest to the side of the court the ball handler is dribbling to. They're just setting a screen for the ball handler to dribble right in front of the other defender at the top of the zone, and then dribble back out, pass it once, hoist a three with no player or ball movement. And once you do screen the right player, you have to be aggressive getting into the middle of the zone. Just tentatively dribbling isn't going to do anything.

I was hoping Tower's thread title would be "End Zone"

I think Twighlight Zone would be a better description.

Seriously, even "Win Joplin we trust" would have been better.

You need to get the ball to the middle of the zone near the FT line, and we have started to do that. The problem is that the person who receives the pass there needs to do something with it.  Numerous times we'd get the ball to the right spot and we'd just dribble or pass it right back out to the perimeter. Turn and face the basket and there will be opportunities to do something positive.

That title got changed 10 times in 20 minutes.   Damn near deleted the whole thing and walked away.

I would not have blamed you one bit.

We won, but to employ a perfect British expression...

BLOODY AWFUL!

We have had time to figure how we're going to attack a zone  appears that is all we are going to see

Absolutely.  I saw Chase in there once and he made no effort whatsover to do anything but kick it back out and there was no one within 5 feet of him.  With his elevation, a teardrop or Oso-type push shot should be money.  Stevie did it too.  I think I finally saw them turn and score on one of them.

Stevie ran it right twice late in the game. On one, he kicked to a wide-open Chase who hit that big 3. And on the other, he took a dribble and scored on a short floater. I mean, it's not that hard, or at least it shouldn't be. As those examples show, it doesn't even have to be a big, though I'd think Gold could do pretty well there.

It would be nice to sit down with Shaka and talk to him about it, but alas rocky forgot to apply for Scoop's press pass.
