Too much.

You’re right, and I apologize. But I’m effen pissd at the casualness that some shrug off this sh!t.

When will the spineless “all life matters” politicians step the eff up and help bring gun-safety legislation that an overwhelming percentage of Americans want instead of focusing on how best to hate vulnerable kids?

Very strange take, even for you.

The FBI investigated anonymous threats. They were able to identify who was posting them, turned over all the evidence they had collected to the local authorities, just as they are required to do.

So massive win for the FBI, they identified a threat, and relayed all pertinent information to local authorities who had jurisdiction. Unfortunately, Georgia laws don't allow any action.

Local authorities couldn't do anything, because no local laws had been violated, and there are no red flag laws to limit gun access.

Failure, local politics.

Looks like another total failure by law enforcement. After numerous reports about him threatening a school shooting last year, they just said nothing to see here.

Why weren’t all guns confiscated from the home?
good question. Do the parents get charged as well?

In related news, there are hearings in southeast Michigan to reinstate lawsuits brought by victims' families against the Oxford school district.   Their argument is that the tragedy there was predictable and preventable.

From the Gun Violence Archive:

So far this year, the US has suffered at least 385 mass shootings, which are defined as incidents with 4 or more victims.

That’s an average of more than 1.5 mass shootings every day.

Come on, people! We can get that up to 2 a day with a little work!!

This is the only thing that has a chance of changing the nations trajectory on the subject, and that's a really sad thing to type.

The congressman who represents that area thought it important that everyone knows that not all of the injuries were from gunfire, but rather a result of terrified kids fleeing from gunfire.
Weird.

@RepMikeCollins
Very sad to confirm there have been four fatalities from the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, GA.
Many others wounded, but not all gun-related or life-threatening injuries, some from efforts to flee danger.
The suspect is in custody.

Georgia doesn't have a red flag law, that's why.
What would you have had law enforcement do in this specific case?

Yup. I also think the public really underestimates how common these types of threats are.

If these threats are so common maybe we should mitigate the tools/mechanisms that can be used to carry out the threats then.

Just a thought.

Preaching to the choir. I'm just saying that law enforcement is put in an impossible situation with these threats pretty routinely.

Rep. Mike Collins, who represents the district where the school shooting happened today in GA, was asked in 2022 if he favored ANY gun laws including red flag laws. The answer is no, he said God is the answer.

Well, the dad said the kid had no unsupervised access, whatever that means. He also said they were "hunting" guns.  ?-(

Not sure what the dad used that gun for. And if it was used for hunting, it should have been stored somewhere else until hunting season.

I don't think its too unreasonable to have a parent store their guns somewhere other than the home if their child made threats. I know that's not the law, but I am sure the police could have done some convincing.

He is correct.  God is the answer.  God has provided us with guns.  If guns were bad, why would God have provided them?

It is god’s will our children get slaughtered at school.  Maybe it’s a sign we should close schools?  Of course, the lame steam media won’t discuss that option because of the woke mob

There is nothing inherently wrong with thoughts and prayers.

And they are as inherently useful as tits on a bull, as they say.

God already gives kids cancer to teach us some lesson.  Why shouldn't God give kids guns to teach us a different lesson?

This past Friday… at a nearby park.. 5 teens shot on and near by a basketball court, VERY close to the Pickleball courts, at 8:15p. Multiple assailants appeared and began firing. No arrests; very little info / updates of note so far. This was in a suburb that borders mine.

Dozens of witnesses.

(FBI likely to blame, aina)

Yessir. It's kind of like the way god saved the previous president but was happy to sacrifice Corey Comperatore, the 50-year-old dad who took a bullet for his family that day. The lord provides for all ... except those who die horrible deaths ... but he actually provides for them too, because she's all-knowing and just ... except for when he or she is an angry god who says gay people and adulterers are evil and should be stoned to death ... unless the adulterer is the previous president, and then it's OK.

The answer is obvious. Let him commit mass murder and then invoke thoughts & prayers.
