Stevie's mom posted video of his first career technical from high school.

Got it for what he's probably best known for: Flashy Dunks

I was at the game, but left for the men's room to beat the lines. I missed Stevie's T. What happened?

The refs went to the monitor looking for a Marquette player to even out the technicals. Stevie stood in and got it.

He got between Oso and Soriano chatting pleasantly.

Eh. We don't know what he said.

He probably said the game was over.  Signed, sealed, delivered.

He is a very smart man. Not a journalism major.

Eh. We don't know what he said.

And neither did they, since they didn't issue a technical on Stevie until after the monitor review.

Once they saw a MU player step in front of Soriano that's all they needed. It was total equine pie.

We don't really know that either.

Why didn't the st johns guy who then stepped between Stevie and Sorianos get one?

Both were pretty weak T's to be honest.  Should've just had a quick word and that's that.

Because by not calling fouls all game, ramping up the frustration, the stripes figured they need to restore faux order.

Yeah.  I was fine with "offsetting" T's, but mostly because I didn't think Soriano deserved one.  If Oso just keeps walking away there's probably no T's called.  But I'm glad Oso didn't just keep walking away.

Soriano intentionally pushed Oso in the back. When they went to monitor, I was hoping for a flagrant foul, which would have given us the ball. Giving a double technical was not justified. It allowed Soriano to get away with a bush play.

It was a little push. Not worthy of a flagrant at all.

Agree. Would have been cheap to come away with 4 free throws and the ball when down 10. Refs got put in kind of a weird spot there when Oso confronted Soriano.

By confronted, you mean he turned around and asked, "What's your problem man, what are you doing?"

Oso seemed like he had no clue why Soriano pushed him in the first place.

Tech foul was the right call.  It doesn't matter how hard the push was, it may have escalated if it was allowed to continue.

I'm glad MU took exception to it as it set the tone for the second to not let St John's push them around like they had done in the first half.

I guess my point was that I didn't think the punishment would have fit the crime to award MU 4 free throws and the ball. Refs shouldn't have gone to the monitor in the first place, imo. It helped us though because Soriano was pretty much mentally out of it after that play especially.

I'd be willing to bet him and Ricky had a tiffy at HT.

He's been playing like dung of late, and if I recall he didn't start the 2H.
Rick criticized the capt getting a tech and said he didn't want him to get another foul...

If I'm right, not great form by coach Pitino, since his dudes played a heckuva first half. He shoulda been in there pumping them up.
