If you think that was a neutral platform...I have seen people who know Ed personally on twitter say it would have been fair game if any of them were asked - they were not.

Fanta says he was lied to about the project and personally apologized to Ed on Saturday. Goodman's fight in this is over Fanta - nothing else. Again, Goodman is a clown - but if what Fanta says is true about being duped - then what?

This guy is playing victim today and it's his word against Fanta - doubt we'll ever get the truth but the Big East office is NOT happy about it.

If the question was "why do you think Ed left?" And a bunch of people respond with affair allegations the documentarian has a responsibility to show that. The bottom line is the documentary is a discussion on why he left and the fans reaction. True or not is irrelevant as it encapsulates the fans willingness to believe anything to figure out a justification.

If there's no source then I would opine that Goodman and Dauster have an unspoken social contract with coaches where there's a line of what they can discuss. This contract keeps coaches willing to participate on their podcasts and shows. Fanta appearing on the doc that likely violates this social contract jeopardizes that pipeline.

Now if Fanta is correct, then the guy deserves to be sued into oblivion but that should be handled in the court of law. Your thesis in your previous post tried to justify Goodman's threats because Providence fans were/are jackasses, but given the threats weren't to the fans on the documentary, they aren't connected to draw this tit for tat equivalency.

If its libel/slander/ etc. let Cooley sue the producer of the doc into oblivion.

So, uh what about it being neutral? Didn't he have a responsibility to reach out and get Ed's side of the story from people close to him? He did not.

Fanta hasn't said that publicly, but I assure you this is the root of the issue. I am not saying Fanta is telling the truth either - but the Big East office is not exactly pleased to have one of their most visible faces tied to a propaganda piece likening one of their coaches to Hitler. Make sense?

Every fanbase has fans that chant, mock, jeer, swear and say everything you can think of that should not be said. I witnessed it during the BET last March. From my experience the UConn fans were the absolute worst and there was such a gap between UConn and everyone else it was mindboggling.

If MU was in this position and Shaka left for another rival, there is a part of the MU fanbase that would act like Kansas and Texas fans have this year - classless.

I was there and totally agree. The UCONN fans were way over the top and absolutely insufferable.

No idea if anything will come of it, but it was moronic of Fanta to do that. Putting himself adjacent to multiple people alleging Cooley cheated on his wife and one asserting he had sex with a student was a mistake.

He's the face of the Big East and here he is tearing down one of the league's most influential members. Not only that, his involvement will likely damage his reputation in the coaching fraternity, exacerbated by Goodman inadvertantly drawing a ton of attention to the documentary when he was trying to defend Fanta.

Fanta should've vetoed that as soon as he saw it.

Duping isn't a cognizable legal claim and it's not a crime. Also, I think Fanta just didn't realize it would piss off Cooley so much and get him in hot water with the conference. Thats just a young guy learning a hard lesson.
