Stepped on someone's foot and turned an ankle

Amputation ... but HIPAA rules prevent me from saying anything more.

Above or below the knee?

If it's a high ankle sprain, he'd be out for Illinois and maui, at the very least

If it's amputation he'll be out longer

Steele says that Kolek says hes fine. But also says that Shaka says Kolek will "get treatment" and be on the court when ready

Just like his hand was ready after the first NCAAA game last year?!

Dumb.

Mutaman

Wasn't it a little weird that the Fox guys never mentioned Kolek after he went out and never asked Shaka about his condition?

CountryRoads

We obviously need Kolek back, but Sean will get the job done Tuesday if need be. He's been playing with a lot of confidence.

It's because they are not good at their jobs.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

There's really nothing to report when you think about it, it's too early.

It's clearly a bad roll of the ankle, it'll balloon, it'll recess.

So, check back Tuesday afternoon before tip and my guess is he will be out at Illinois and probably back for Maui unless it's a bad high ankle sprain.

Payback for Kofi missing the game in Milwaukee!

That's a fair trade.

Hopefully just Illinois, but I'm excited to see what Sean can do running the show with Oso

My sister's cousin goes to Marquette. Last night her roommate was out with one of Tyler's boys who said that as Father Lawrence was giving Tyler his final communion, Tyler lept up out of bed, said unnatural carnal knowledge 'em and went out to have some miller lites.

Coleman

Saw Tyler rolling through campus this morning

Uncle Rico

I wouldn't be worried.  Heisy is always wrong and he says amputation, so Tyler's ankle is probably stronger than ever

Shaka's full quote (from Steele's article):

"He stepped on someone's foot. The status update from him is 'I'll be fine.' But he did turn his ankle. Right away, he subbed himself out. We'll see how it responds. He'll get treatment. Knowing Tyler, he's a guy that he'll find a way to be on the floor when he needs to be on the floor. But we'll see how his ankle responds over the next couple days."

Ankles are just a wait and see. All depends on the level of turn and depth of swelling. Each person responds differently. Could be 8 weeks, could be back and ready by Tuesday. Whatever it is, Sean Jones and Chase Ross have showed that this team will be a tough out whatever happens with Kolek.  Hopefully he can play Tuesday, but definitely hope this doesn't affect his availability in Hawaii.
VIOLENCE!

zcg2013

As someone who has no medical background but rolled countless ankles, my guess is the "break glass in case of emergency" player Tuesday to push for a full 100% for Maui.

Uncle Rico

Shaka can't beat Big Ten teams anyway, so I'd rest him
