I was driving from Milwaukee to Columbia last night.  Stopped for dinner early in the first half and had the iPad out to watch the game.  Turned it off at half, started getting texts as we were getting back to the car that seemed like MU was doing well, so decided to be superstitious and not turn the game on the radio (well, app).  When the game was over, I had to turn the postgame on.  In his interview with homer, Shaka said something along the lines of, "We take a back seat to nobody.  These guys wanted this game and they went out and took it."  It was awesome.

Thanks for taking one for the team.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

Yeah I was stressed out driving home.  Got home at 10:30 and had to watch the 2nd half before going to bed.  Then was fired up, so I'm pretty tired today.

I wonder whether, and how much, Shaka's reaction was triggered by items (and possibly verbal trash) being thrown at the MU bench. That might explain why he turned toward the crowd.

I had the same thought and my guess is 100% of it was because of those things

I can empathize with this. I was so jacked after the game and wanted to post-op a bit on the boards...and then woke up at 4 to get my 6am flight. Worth it.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Oh, that was my very first impression. From what I have seen of Shaka, that Creighton "crowd" must have been really over the top in their abuse for Shaka to go in your face! Kolek 'em.

Last night Shaka channeled his "inner Al"... almost 49 years ago to the day (Feb 5, 1974)
You have it all wrong about Old Man Hughes. He was just signalling to Al that he thought Al was #1.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

We switched my son from his Marquette shirt into some shark PJs at halftime.  Combined superstitions clearly fueled that second half

Porter Moser would have won the right way

Yep all 3 conference games.

Moser inherits 2 rising senior starters from a NCAA tourney team, brings in the Big Sky POY who was one of the most coveted transfers in the portal, plus Goldwire who was a partial starter over 2 years on a really good Duke team and the weird COVID Duke team....proceeds to go 19-16 (including losing 12 of 15 after the new year to start 2022) and miss the NCAAs

Shaka returns 51 total minutes and 15 total points from a sub .500 team.  Brings in an unproven guy from Clemson playing less than 10 min.  A solid mid major guard with minimal major conference experience. And an experienced B10 who had never been a scorer or averaged more than 9PPG in a season.  Projected as 10th in conference, below Gtown.  Finishes 6th, sweeps Nova, makes the NCAA.

Year 2...
MU is a top 10 team on track to win the BE, despite bringing in no D1 transfers.

Oklahoma brings back 4 of their top 6 players, replaces Gibson with Grant Sherfield who lead the Mountain West in assists the last 2 years and was top 3 in scoring in conference each of those years.  Currently 13-15, dead last in the B12, and have 2 road games against top 20 teams and a home game against TCU remaining.  14-17 (4-14) seems like the best case scenario.

My GOD did we make the right choice.  Results, culture, national perception, etc...  Hell I hope Moser goes to ND so we can restart that series and mop the floor with them and further prove it.

Oh, definitely. That's the most animated/defiant I have seen and heard him since he's been here. And I freaking loved it.

Lol.  If I wasn't Scoop illiterate I'd post the little kid tipping the "RE2ECT."

But, Wags... Porter Moser grew up in Naperville.
