Its just funny the Markus hate. I do agree with Goose I think he would thrived under Shaka as well and been even more efficient in that system.

But the fact he gets called a chucker is legit funny.

Anybody remember Carsen Edwards?!?! Look at that guys career FG% and 3PT% compared to Markus. Forget Powell at SHU??? Marcus Carr at his 100 schools thats still playing?

Those are just 3 random examples off top of my head of big time college basketball players and guys who can get buckets. All less efficienctly than Markus while also scoring less.

As stated, lets stop going basketball stupid.

Well said.  Markus shot 43% for his career from 3.  A career eFG around 56% (for reference Steph Curry’s career NBA eFG is 58%).  All while being insanely high usage in a system where he was everything and every opposing coach and team knew it and aimed to stop him.

In no world was he a “chucker.  That’s for guys like Myles Powell who shot 31% from 3 as a senior yet still took more than 9 a game.   Markus was a generational shooting talent who was unfortunately slotted into an unimaginative and stale offense.

Chuckers don’t find a way into NBA playoff games as an undrafted rookie, for whatever reason, and shoot 42% from 3.

Nor do Chuckers go and not only average 17 while shooting 45% from 3 in arguably the best non-NBA domestic league in the world, but then also average 16 and 46% from 3 in the absolute best non NBA competition in the world in the EuroLeague, while already setting club records for his new team.

Dude is beyond special and trying to diminish him because his coach was a pud is beyond tired.

A chucker is a chucker it doesn't matter if they happen to be good at it!

This is as bad as your wine takes.  Very efficient, high percentage shooters are not “chuckers”.   Unless of course you think Steph Curry is a chucker.  Which would say a lot about your basketball knowledge and perspective

JWags nails it.

Markus was special, Markus is special.

Markus hid how bad that Wojo team was his senior year. He had an all worldly performance that season.

With this thread and anything Wojo, you never know  ;D

And the whole joke wasn't my high standards, it was yours :o

Related, Baskonia is currently playing Real Madrid and their roster of about 7-8 former NBA players.  Markus has 21 in the first half on 5/7 from deep with a couple assists and is absolutely TORCHING anyone they put on him.

I figured it was sarcasm.

Unfortunately with this board and people in this thread even, I can also see why Jwags did not.

You forgot to abbreviate people and forgot to use bold for KIDS... 3/10.

Anything from a corn mash is purely for this sweet addicted country. It's only good use is for cocktails where you're going to put a mountain of syrup and juice in there anyways.

Irish whiskey is just a alcoholic Ovaltine, without the chocolate or sugar.

Even if this was true that would make it better than sipping the paint thinner w/ a tablespoon of sugar, vanilla and cherry that is every glass of corn mash whiskey.

I would literally take him on the Bulls in a heart beat as a microwave off the bench.  NBA GMs are out thinking themselves on this one IMO.

Yup. I wonder how many teams have finished under .500 in conference while having a consensus first team All American.

What was the final score and stat line?

I’d imagine he will be back in the NBA soon if he keeps it up.

They won 92-86, he had 28 to lead all scorers handily

Them beating Real Madrid is huge. Baskonia finished 9th and only won 12 games last year. They're in first place and already won 11 games this year even with Markus lousy 3 pt shooting.

I believe this was a Euro league game and not a Spanish league game.
