All Time Transfers

ESPN created a list of their Top 20 All Time transfers  https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/32851736/best-men-college-basketball-transfers-all. 

Except for a few, this list seems rather unimpressive. Are they missing obvious ones?  Who would make a list of Marquette's all time transfers?

David Boone is VERY high on my list of MU transfers.

That list is unimpressive because transfers weren't much of a thing before now, or even a few years ago. The penalty on transferring served as the exact deterrent the NCAA lords and masters intended it to be.

If I were to rate the transfers I can remember ...

1. Robert Jackson. Fine starting center on one of the only 3 Final Four teams in Marquette history, and we don't get there without him. Big gap between him and everybody else IMHO.

2. Andrew Rowsey. 20-point, 5-assist, cold-blooded mad bomber who invented The Thing and was a blast to watch. Played D slightly worse than me, though.

3. David Boone. Averaged 15.6 pts, 9.7 reb in bridging the Majerus-Dukiet eras. Super-solid player deserved better support.

4. Katin Reinhardt. Double-digit scorer for an NCAAT-bound team, and made the winning play in our first victory over a No. 1-ranked team in 14 years.

5. Trent Lockett. Classic "glue guy" for Buzz's Elite Eight team.

Honorable Mention ...

++ Luke Fischer. Averaged 11.4 pts, 5.7 rebs, 1.7 blks over 2.5 seasons and contributed to the 2017 NCAAT team (though replaced in starting lineup by Heldt late that season).

++ D.J. Carton. Accomplished too little given his talent, but a lot of fun to watch (when he wasn't turning it over).

++ Matt Carlino. Wojo's first hired gun, made a bad team slightly more palatable.

++ Walter Downing. Decent contributor for 2 years but ultimately a disappointment for non-NCAAT Majerus teams.

++ Koby McEwen. Lots of passion, a few big plays but not nearly enough of them. Musta set NCAA record for most travels in the middle of the key.

++ Jake Thomas. Will always be remembered for a 4-point play vs Cuse even though it really didn't change momentum (we ended up falling behind by more points later). Part of the worst starting backcourt in recent Marquette history, but it wasn't his fault he played 30 mpg.

Also ...

Darryl Morsell was looking like a shoo-in to be one of our great transfers after 4 games; we'll see what the rest of the season brings.

Tyler Kolek could make that list before his MU career is done; it would be great if he's good enough the rest of this season to make it.

Kur Kuath and/or OMP? We'll see!

Ed Morrow - pretty much a dud, but we'll always be grateful for that one blocked shot against Madison.

Brian Nyenhuis. Big center from my time at MU. Not very good but he kinda looked like Lurch, so I'll give him props for that.

Wally, cuz we probably don't get Henry without him.

Joe Chartouny - his inept missed layup, followed by his make on the rebound, left so little time at Creighton that it kinda-sorta set up one of the great buzzer-beaters in Marquette history.

Harry Froling, because Jay Bilas said so.

Ron Curry was extremely big because it gave credibility to the program. He is high on my list.

I'm embarrassed I missed some. That's why I usually leave this kind of stuff to brew, TAMU and others. D'oh!

But while I loved Sam Worthen, a guy from my era, he was a JUCO transfer. If we're gonna start including those ... Jimmy, DJO, etc. Not really what's been talked about.

I was gonna correct/add to my list but I'll just let it sit there for awhile and let others bring up ones I missed. Eventually we can do a more complete list.

I'd put Ron Curry on the list.

I was surprised that we got more than 5 posts in without a Curry mention. Him Jackson, and Rowdy were the first three I thought of.

I know your list is incomplete but based on what you have, there is only one non-JUCO school that MU has ever got two transfers from. Mississippi State with Robert Jackson and Bob Black. We love our Bobs from Mississippi apparently.
