I'd like to suggest Scoop adds a Youtube plugin.

Every time I want to share, oh, I dunno, a vintage Arby's commercial on Youtube, I gotta screw around with the Flash tag, which likely doesn't work for anyone using Chrome now that they disabled it by default.

Sure would be nice to have a (safe) iframe option .. seems like there are a few SMF plugins that do it...

It is sad I have to put more effort in to understand what 4eva is saying.

I'll look into the youtube thing - probably early Decemeber.  But
1) Chrome seems to bring up the youtube flash fine on both my phone and computer.  I don't think I've set anything that makes it do that (i.e. on the game stream website yesterday I did get a popup to allow flash - I never get that with 'Scoop/Youtube.

2) I guess it's a programmer mindset, but I find the URL modification to be trivial  ;D

Chrome?!?  You mean y'all aren't scooping from the tub or the throne on an iPad?  WTF?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Wish Granted, now you just post the URL, and *poof* it works.

Some notes...
- Works with videos from Youtube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitvid, Imgur, Instagram, Vimeo, Vine
- Just post the video URL from any of those services and it should embed automatically.
- Video won't show up on preview, but will when you press post.

EXCELLENT.

I wonder .. could it be modified to shrink the Youtube video window?  Right now it's too big to fit in the frame .. and I've got my browser maximized on the laptop.

I think 500 pixels wide is about right.

The One True God!

This is 500x300, which is the resolution I usually include videos at on this forum.

Yep, that's too big, you've got scroll bars.  450 x 300 (or 257) = no scroll bars

Yep, that's too big,

I think we need to pitch in for a new laptop for you.  I've got a 3+ year old laptop with a 1080 1920 pixel wide screen and 500 doesn't even come close to scroll bars unless I zoom in to 150% (that's with side bars and everything). Even my phone will view 500  pix fine on landscape mode (no side bars).

Edit: derp

mu_hilltopper

Ahh .. I know now.  It's not my (1 year old) laptop or the resolution.

I have Scoop zoomed to 125% so it's easier to read.  Drop that down, and no scroll bars.

rocky_warrior

I thought only beef n Cheddar's made scoop easier to read!?
