13 conference games to go.   7-6 gets MU solidly in the dance.      Beat DePaul and SJU 2x each, G-town in DC, Butler, and Providence at home and voila'.    Would like to also beat Creighton at home, so that there is room for error.   Stealing one in Indy is house money, but completely doable.       Losses at X, at home to Nova, at Creighton are to be assumed.

Honestly, I think there's a chance at Xavier. Keep the midgets out of foul trouble and it'll be a game. Xaiver is overrated.

I just have a strange feeling on that game.

I just can?t see us sweeping gtown, sju and DePaul but think we make up for it with an unexpected win (@hall possibly).

Agree. I am still mad we lost that X game at home. I felt that one slipped away (crap calls, no D).

SJU will be tough, particularly in NYC, if Marcus Lovett is healthy when we play them.  They miss him immensely.

I watched much of the Georgetown/St. Johns game last night ahead of our own, and based on what I saw, we would have to have a terrible night to lose to either of those teams as presently constructed.

Yeah, I think so too, but you know the committee likes Great we got a signature win!
What's the best on that resume. At Providence? Butler at home? I think more likely is we drop one against the cellar dwellers but take one against the top 3 (although tough to already have two of those chances gone).

Funny you say that because @depaul is the one that scares me the most. Seems like we never get easy away wins versus them.

I'm just going to chalk that up to being on a transatlantic red-eye last night combined with Scoop being down.

Hmmmm....Marcus Lovett retweeted it, so that would indicate to me that they are on the same page.

Yes, but his coach told the media he might be back at practice today...

I thought LoVett might be having academic issues again but this seems like something else. He may not be around this year.

This still smells a little fishy to me. Not sure we'll see LoVett suit up for the Fighting Mullins again.

Initially confused.  But are you saying there might be something besides the injury and that Mullin is giving Lovett a graceful exit?

Anyway, I now expect SJU to finish last.  Frankly this probably enhances the chances that 7 BEast teams dance because the gap after #7 is pretty big.  MU really needs 5 out of these remaining 5.  4 is the absolute minimum.

You are correct, sir! Last week they were overrated at #5. This week they  are overrated at #10. Next week they'll be less overrated at around #15!

I'm not sure that I would "assume" a loss at Creighton.  They don't play great defense, so if we can win a shoot-out, which we certainly can, we have a shot in Omaha.

I continue to believe we finish 3rd in the Big East and make it to the second weekend.  We can put points on the board and our defense is making steady progress. There is no game or situation the rest of the regular season that we can't win. Not saying we will win them all but I think we won't see any blow outs. The Villanova game was a good example , we got it close toward the end. A couple of made 3s and we would have been right there.

These kids are now at the point where they believe in each other . I think we will see some nice games from Sam as opponents focus heavily on Markus and Rowsey.  The rest of the team is playing well  and embracing their roles. Greg Elliott is bringing a tremendous intensity to the game and will only get more valuable as the season goes on. He is must see TV for me.

The team just has to keep going into every game with the Big East mindset where every possession is a battle. Every team in our conference can also beat us so we can't let our guard down.

does that happen?  i've heard of it in more minor instances...but a guy gets booted from the team for poor conduct but the team tries to couch it as a medical/inury issue?

You have had two very public and far reaching dreams

1) Oct 2015: Henry Ellenson wins the Naismith College Player of the Year his senior season
2) Oct 2017: This year's team goes to the 2nd weekend

Starting to think your Oct 2017 dream isn't so far reaching.

I'd say the thought that we finish third is more unlikely than us getting to the 2nd weekend. We're the type of team that can certainly string together 2 strong shooting games in a row in the tourney. Finishing ahead of Creighton, Seton Hall or Xavier? I don't know about that, but I appreciate the optimism.
