No one is coming to MU because of Sam Hauser, aina?

And Markus is MUBB family.  The program would love to have him around

0's impact on the program going forward is pretty much on par with Automatic's, hey?

I liked Sam. He was a solid player on our team for three years. For me personally, he built up enough capital that I still liked him "well enough" after he left. I wouldn't say that I root for him, but if I see that something good happens to him -- such as winning an NBA championship -- my general attitude is "good for him." I actively root for most other MU guys and am much more enthusiastic if they do well.

Joey, on the other hand...well he didn't build up the capital that Sam did. I wouldn't say that I actively root against him...well...actually...yes, I kind of do root against him.

Edited to add: I have similar generally positive feelings for a number of guys who put in several years at MU -- Greg Elliott, Jamal Cain, Theo John, etc.

Yep, same.

I care about players who finished at Marquette.

If it were to happen, it would get a big yawn from me.

The fact that you think it would be nice is pretty pathetic actually.

positive relationships > negative ones

Also, I doubt Sam or Marquette will have you on speed dial for a response.

Speed dial? That reference isn't going to win us any recruits.

You don't care about Jamal Cain? I'm rooting for him to succeed in the NBA. Sam's departure was more acrimonious, but I'd be fine with MU bringing him back someday. Relationships of all kinds are complicated.

He was at MU 4 years.  He left during a coaching change.   Go, Jamal.

I'd have no problem with Marquette "bringing Sam back" someday. Hell, I wouldn't even have a problem with Marquette "bringing Joey back" someway somehow. Neither would affect me one iota, nor would it affect the program I root for.

But it's hardly surprising that Marquette doesn't go out of its way to promote a guy who left the school on not the greatest terms just a few years ago. Nor does it surprise me that Sam probably isn't reaching out to Marquette.

As for Sam's NBA career ... I predicted years ago that he'd make it in the league, and it's cool for him that he's got a ring.
