Was hoping he'd get a regular deal, but I'm glad he at least got this.

I am thinking if theDame trade happens, it will get converted. If not, Heat are kinda full. I view this as a way to keep him without having to commit with an unknown roster make up.

NBA legend Dwyane Wade will become the first ex-Marquette player to make the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame after being enshrined with the rest of the class of 2023 on Saturday.

However, Wade told reporters at a Friday press conferences that he won't be the last, noting that Jimmy Butler should find his way to Springfield, Massachusetts someday as well.

Without question he will.

How about Doc Rivers... as a coach?

i tell my dad, who's been in a nursing home for the past 5 years, the role he's played within our family, our community and all of those he's touched how valuable he still is.  as he sits, a shell of himself, he needs to know that there is a reason he is still with us, no matter how useless he feels.  to remind them of their accomplishments...that never gets old...tell them again...and again...and...they earned those

I'm amazed by the number of elite-level basketball players I see (better athletes than I could ever dream of being) that can't throw a baseball. At all. It surprises me every time.

Guys, that's 50 Cent at a Mets game from like 10 years ago. Give Jerel the benefit of the doubt!

I don't think that's it. When I've seen it and been surprised, it's the throwing motion that's "off." Also, large hands are typically considered a plus for pitchers.

Even though that's not Jerel, I stand by my comment. I've seen quite a few elite athletes who aren't baseball players throw out first pitches and am often surprised that they can't throw.

Also, I'm pretty sure Rosiak did not think that was really Jerel. It seems he was teasing Jerel about a different questionable first pitch. Looks like Jerel has a good sense of humor about it. Defnitely better than 50 Cent...but still a little rough.

I think throwing a baseball is like swinging a golf club in that the later in life you first "learn it" the more abnormal it feels.  Its a different sort of motion and throwing something much smaller than you are used to.

I played intramural softball with a football player in college.  He was lightning quick and covered acres of space in the outfield.  But he literally would throw it in underhand or sort of side arm fling it.  The hand eye coordination of catch was easy.  The throwing just felt weird.

Very true. But you'll notice in my posts I was much more focused on the elite athleticism than the height. I never even mentioned the "tall" thing. I just always assume - wrongly, I realize - that elite athletes will be good across the spectrum of athletic skills. But a lot of basketball players obviously never spent much time in throwing sports.

Not judging...just saying that it always surprises me.

My future wife, a few buddies and I took team sports as an elective at MU, and Rivers was in our class. We were surprised at how bad he was at volleyball.

Now, if he spent any time learning and training for volleyball, I'm pretty sure he would have been darn good. But he didn't ... and he wasn't!

That's really what it boils down to -- if you focus all your attention and training in one area, it's quite possible that you won't have even basic skills in another area...but it still surprises me. Probably says more about me being a slow learner than about anything else.

Wish that elective (and I assume the easy A that went with it) was available I'm my day. All we had were Horton Roe music appreciation classes.

Team sports and individual sports were part of the phys ed program and both were taught by Charlie Nader, who was then the golf coach.
