There was a lot of disgusting food served in the mid-20th century.

My mom would put hot dogs, mayonnaise, and dill pickles in the blend and call it "ham salad".

And remember carrots and celery in a jello mold?

Check out Adam Eats the 80's on the History Channel.
Made a show on the 80's because the decade had some of "the uniquest foods of any decade".

Here in MN, that's still a side dish....

If you are ever in Nashville, go to Bobs Western and have the recession special. Fried Bologna, moon pie, and a pBR for $6

I grew up in Nashville and have never heard of this.

I have heard of a Nashville breakfast, which is a Moon Pie and an RC Cola.
Have some patience, FFS.

I've always been a Colgate toothpaste guy, but sometimes I wonder if there's something out there I'd like better.

I realized an incredible benefit of the very little snowfall this winter.
As owners of 2 dobermans, backyard cleanup after snow thaws was no where as nasty as most years.

So at least we got that going for us.

I loved Arm & Hammer when the original formula came out, but they've messed it up so much that I usually buy Colgate or Crest these days.

Back in the day when they said bring a dish to pass , the person who brought The light green whipped cream jello mold with celery and carrots had very few takers

Are there soft ones, and regular too?

LOL

The first iteration of the actual toothpaste actually had a nice, clean taste, with light abrasiveness from the baking soda. Nowadays, they add other flavors....

Anyone here wear hearing aids?

I have just enough hearing loss for my insurance to cover them, so I am giving them a shot. I am in the middle of the free trial period, and pondering giving them back because I'm not sure the hearing benefit is worth the annoyance of putting them in and taking them out.

For me, it's like wearing earbuds all day but only listening to a handful of songs.

I'm curious if others with moderate/borderline hearing loss like 'em.

I wear hearing aids and have for about 10 yrs. To me they're like glasses, glasses don't replace perfect eyesight and hearing aids don't get you perfect hearing.

My hearing impairment is more pronounced in the in the higher range (think female voices). This can be a convenient excuse on occasion, but the truth is that without them I would miss too much in social settings. Also, it may be an industry come on, but I have heard that hearing loss can lead to cognitive loss over time. I'd keep them. You do get used to them after a while.

I heard similar, but that the main decline is in the part of the brain that recognizes words. But then if you can't hear/recognize words, it would make sense that cognitive decline could result as well.

Now y'all get off my lawn!!!
