Six, Seven, and Eight
« on: January 11, 2016, 12:39:33 PM »
Its a bit of a longshot, but if we win two more in a row, we will have beaten the sixth, seventh, and eight ranked teams (ranking at the time we played them).

Providence as fallen out of top ten.

We have opportunities to get some high quality wins in the next 7 days.

GO WARRIORS!!!!!

Would be thrilled with 1-1 this week. Think Nova gives us the business on Wednesday, but I think we have a shot at beating X at home.

Need a loud building on Saturday. Top 10 team coming in, let's see if the kids can put a full game together.

You mean the student section, right?
I agree, because 2nd half eBN%* has been atrocious over the last six games.

As usual I'd be surprised if Nova is even competitive. I could see something close to 84-57 coming at their place.

We do got a shot against X though. We gotta play a great game, but that's winnable.

Then I think it's Creighton(home) and SJU(their place this time) after that?

If we can someone get a 3-1 stretch and be 5-3 heading into the Stetson game. We've got a shot.

Very tough though considering Wednesday is basically a auto loss.

Even if MU beats Nova and Xavier this week, our RPI is still going to be in the 100s (i.e. NIT: here we come).  So what difference does it make?

If we were to beat Xavier and Nova, we would probably be receiving votes.

Are you high? If we beat those teams our RPI won't be close to 100.

With that said we aren't going to beat them both. Sagarin has Nova as about a 20 point favorite.

Let's focus on keeping the Villanova game to double digits.

With this team, I honestly wouldn't be surprised by beating Nova and Xavier and then losing to DePaul twice.

So if they beat us by 99 it's OK?

Stop. It ain't happening. But this is foolish.

That would be 3 top 10 wins in a week and a half. 2 on the road.

3 true road wins for the year. 2 neutral court wins. 4-2 conference record and 14-4 overall.

Every bracket around would have us in.

Again, this is obviously very hypothetical.

Should I have used teal here? Damnit, I can never figure that out.

The point being, we're huge underdogs. We are fully capable of stealing a game. Nova is not likely to be it unless this is the game where their shots aren't falling. However, they normally save those for March.

A win at Villanova would be huge, but realistically we need to play hard and smart for forty minutes and keep improving. I don't think we can afford any more blow outs.

Yup. Clearly based on your comments about the RPI you know that even when we lose both of these games our RPI will make a major move in the right direction.

Beat those teams and we have to play ourselves out of the tournament moving forward. Such an absurd statement.

He was clearly trolling. Read the responses that follow, especially his own responses, and it's obvious.

Well played, Benny ;)

Did MU ever have to play three top 10 teams in a row in the old BE?

There is a good chance, definitely top 20, but we aren't now, as the decidely not top 10 St. John's was mixed in there.
