Guess we will know for sure if MU heads down for a visit or not.

Herro at MU is not going to happen at this point.  Herro stock has really risen in the past couple months to the point that his camp believes he is a one and done.  A majority of the one and dones the past few years go to a blue blood that pumps out NBA picks- Duke, UK, KU, Zona, etc.  Or they go to an average major conference team that will let the one and done be "The Man" from day one- see Ben Simmons, Fultz, Porter, our own Henry Ellenson.

UW offers him neither of these.  They are the opposite of a NBA one and done factory, and they weren't going to promise him anything because they will have all of their guards back next year (who they are high on) and possibly Happ.  That's why he decommited from UW.  Pretty much the same thing with MU, they will have basically the whole team back including Howard, both Hausers, Morrow, etc next year.  They are not going to hand the keys to Herro and promise him X number of shots, points, minutes etc.

Not to mention, Ike Wilson is pretty heavily involved with Herro at this point and he's not the biggest supporter of Wojo or MU right now, based on perceived slights toward his son.

I saw what Guru is referring to. The individual is very connected around the state and he said it very definitively despite not providing any context or background information. Probably means it's done, but until I see us actually cancel our in home visit I will keep an eye on it.

If we are out, I still love the team we have coming in next season. I think a PG is still the priority for either the 2018 or 2019 class. Maybe we make a run at Ramey. Otherwise, I'd be pretty happy if we landed the Carton or the Watts kid in 2019.

I deduce IWB is the source.  Maybe Dodds.  Either way I'd like to hear a BD update on recruiting for both 2018 & 2019.

Neither of these two would qualify as top 10 recruiting sources in the state of Wi.

Meh. Good luck to grimes if it's true.
Either way it was fun to follow!
Looking forward to our team in 18-19

And even more so! Super excited for this season!

muguru

I guess it's safe to assume they are done recruiting for 2018..On to the season. if they can improve defensively, we know they will score with anyone, but will they get stops?? That is what I am most anxious to see I think. That, and what Sacar brings to the team after a year off.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Herro---one and done? I'll take action on that.

The dots may have blurred for a few hours but it appears they were still connected.

Oh well, time to win a Natty without him.

I'm sorry, but is this like Voldemort or something - you're all afraid to say his name?  It's not like anyone is asking you to tell us everything behind a paywall.  If anything, it may lead other people to pay for the site so they can get the scoop as well.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Well, it wasn't Dodds, so it probably wouldn't. But personally I consider it common courtesy.

I read the same that guru did and no longer harbor any hope for Grimes unless he's looking to transfer in a year or two. That ship has sailed.

Yeah, I didn't think it was Dodds.  The only reason I mentioned him was because he fit the pay wall criteria.  He usually doesn't break recruiting news, which is one of the reasons I no longer subscribe.  Funny story: I cancelled my subscription the day before Buzz left for Va Tech.  Buzz leaving made me give Scoop a closer look and I've been hooked ever since.

Look on the bright side:  It saves us from a 20-page thread on who will get Pole-axed to make room for him.
Have some patience, FFS.

Stop worrying about being elite, let's see what team Wojo/Johnson do in 19 and 20

Wojo inherited a complete renovation, Buzz stopped recruiting, was on the outs with the MU hierarchy etc...

We beat the #1 team in the country last year, have we ever done that in the regular season? And we made the tourney and ran into a Final Four team we had to play in their home state

This is a message board but please give this elite crap a rest were not even close to that status, YET

Buzz didn't stop his recruiting, he just changed his emphasis at the end of his last year from recruiting to Marquette to recruiting away from Marquette.

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

KO got the recruiting class and Curry as a transfer. He took nothing and made it into something. Watching the '94 game the other night was an eye opener. He built a program in short order.

KO really lucked out in coming into the MU job when one of the top classes of Wisconsin HS talent ever was available, Key McIlvaine and Lgtermann.  Also, Curry transferred from the school where KO had been an assistant the year before.  Everything KO did was based off that first year's recruiting class.

I agree,  you are right they don't want him I just can't figure out the logic why. His scoring skill set is incredible, a guy like Wojo could teach him the intangibles and make him great.

Evidently, you can't find anywhere to post where they give a shite.

Honestly I don't think he is that interested in MU either and vice versa.  I don't know why on either side.  But this kid sure seems to be getting a lot of bad advice out there from someone.  Why not just stay at WI where you have a good chance to play?

Our guards are pretty set I guess.  What we need is some kind of big man so I don't have to keep looking over at SOTG listing and see Fischer because if that is our star of game, making the NCAA tourney is our peak.

News flash, Luke Fischer graduated.

Never seen that name.

Re: Nobal though..I think the projected roster make-up could be an issue, if his desire is immediate & significant PT. Personally, I think a year in a situation where he doesn't need to be thrust into the fire would be good for him, but not sure on his viewpoint.

IMO, Ramey this year and Harmon/Watts next year are gone.  Carton is a very good possibility.  Could be someone surprises this year and is a spring prospect - or a grad transfer to replace Rowsey for a year until a 2019 kid gets here.  Lots of plan B's.
