It was wishful thinking  Hoping that the staff is able to get Cam to commit. He'd be a huge piece in what is already a really special recruiting class.

Analyzing where things stand now with Ward, Marquette seems to still be firmly in the mix. The culture that head coach Shaka Smart and his staff have quickly implemented left a massive impression on him during his visit back in late June. Michigan State still seems like their in a good spot and has shown their dedication over the course of the last year making multiple trips to Prince George's County to see Ward in person.

I never thought about the recruiting process from the HS coach POV. That has to be pretty neat for some of them, just like the kid's family.

Spoke with a trainer a few years ago that worked with a D1 prospect.  He was blown-away that Marquette called him and wanted to discuss the recruit and the workouts.  The trainer was excited to be part of the recruiting process.

The conversation was interrupted, so I never got the name of the recruit.  To your point, it has to be an awesome experience for a high school coach.
