The idea he's not good enough for the NBA but good enough for Marquette is a weird argument anyway.

If by weird you mean normal and commonplace, ok

Kolek is an ideal backup PG in the NBA.  Elite distributor and good enough shooter.

This is at a Zach Edey situation.  In the right spot, he can have a solid NBA career

I hope you're right, and I am wrong. I've been wrong about MU player's NBA prospects before (see, e.g., Dwight Buycks and Juan Anderson). But describing Tyler as "an ideal backup PG in the NBA" suggests you don't watch much NBA basketball.

Ideal was the wrong word choice.  He has the ability to be a backup in the NBA and his best opportunity to do so would be capitalizing on another season like last year.  Fully aware 98% of the NBA draft is spent on potential over results.

Selfishly, we'd all want him back as fans.  I just don't think it's realistic

Perhaps, but if Tyler has a similar season to last year and has all the same type of accolades, he's gone.  Someone will draft him.

Vander led us to a Big East title and the Elite 8. Some people want Markus's jersey retired. They were good enough for Marquette. Their unsuccessful cups of coffee suggest they weren't good enough for the NBA. So not weird at all.

Both played in the NBA, however, and continued playing elsewhere.  Same type of discussions about both were had.

If Tyler wants to play in the NBA, again, what does coming back for a 5th year of college do to help that?

Nothing.  But now Madison is willing to pay them with NIL out there.

Vander and Markus were playing solely to entertain me and get a great education.

Is it possible NIL keeps him at Marquette?  Yes.  But it won't keep him for a 6th year and if he wants to explore a professional career, the sooner the better.  Same with Oso.

Agree - whether the NBA or somewhere else, I think Tyler is gone after this year.

Retire TKO jersey. Got it.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Who is Tyler's comp in the NBA? Collin Gillespie?

Right school,  wrong player.  Jalen Brunson.

I think TyKo will have a long NBA career,  though likely as a backup.  I think he will be a 2nd rounder that will make some team very happy.

Zach Edey's "situation" includes choosing, two years in a row, to forgo entering the NBA draft, seemingly because he may not have been drafted, or at least drafted highly.

It looks like '24 is done. Who are our top targets for '25?  Can we keep any of Amari Allen, Kai Rodgers, Davion Hannah, or Xzavier Mitchell in Wisconsin? Do we have any realistic shot with Joson Sanon.

Rodgers is a target but it sounds like he's a long shot

Nigel James (crafty as can be point guard, New York Point guard, I got a good feeling)
Adrien Stevens (big body wing, UAA circuit so i know less, he is the first unofficial and he has been tabbed)
Oswin Erhunmwunse (6'9" center who would be a five star if he were 2 inches taller, not impossible to reclass)
Jacob Rice (lesser know CHI guard at Western Reserve so they'll watch him all HS season.)
Joson Sanon (we were there early so i wouldn't call us out, but IMO, his play has looked a little worse and he might reclass)
Kelvin Odih (bigger wing from rhode island)
Amari Allen  (at IMG now)
Amari Evans (great scoring guad, enjoying OTE.)
Mason Blackwood (watched him all year watching owens. Next Rochester guy. Played up in a limited role last year but could be a very nice college role player at 6'7"- 6'8".)
Kai Rogers ( kinda a target, but i heard alot of Big10 schools)

There are probably some guys missing. But those are the main guys.

(in state recruiting doesn't really exist, unless they are a near 5 star willing to consider an in-state school. Circuit and relationships).

Also, If I were a big in state recruiting guy for 2025.

The player I would be going for is Jamarion Batemon at Milwaukee Academy of Science. Iowa State and Illinois are probably in front for him. He plays for Power 5.

Nebraska, Marquette, Cincinnati, Purdue, DePaul, and Michigan State  were watching him play this month.

Unrelated but props to Sekou Konneh, getting a Louisville offer.

Eddy is not athletic enough to play in NBA. size is useless when they are just going to run him into the ground.

What happened to Shaka can choose who he wants now..... seems we lost out on last two recruits.    It is a tough row to ho3, but there was all this talk about how we can pick and choose which does not seems to be the case.   Thoughts?
