Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I'm optimistic that Parham will commit to Marquette.  Then Shaka can really go hard after Isaiah Abraham and Sir Mohammed.

I think it's between Pitt and Marquette, and I give the edge to Shaka.

It says Marquette's NIL will seal the deal.

Hold on a minute, I was told you can't say that.

Now two crystal balls for Marquette - we are officially screwed.  😳

I think you're right - before the coaching change I might have put Penn State over MU and Pitt.

Pitt has a lot of roster flux right now, so there's really no way to know how good they'll be next season.  It's very possible that they'll be bad, especially as the rest of the ACC rights itself a bit.  Despite last season being a success, I don't think Capel is completely removed from the hot seat if they head back toward the bottom half of the ACC next year.  Shaka, on the other hand, has nothing but job security for the foreseeable future.  I'd imagine that is attractive to someone making a commitment 1+ years out.

Since the pro game has changed, MU gives bigs the chance to play different positions and not stuck with a down low back to the basket player.  I see that as a big plus!

They were extremely old last year and still on the bubble til the end.

Back 2 hot seat soon

Gotta love the internet fan boards. I bounced over to a Pitt site to see what they say about Royce. One poster who has cooled on Royce (fair enough), went on to state that Pitt "should only be recruiting Top 50s".  ::)

The only top 50 player on that roster is Dior Johnson who was suspended indefinitely at the start of last year for assault and strangulation. Can't wait to see Capel play him next year to save his job for him.

"Top performance by any Ohio prospect at EYBL session I was @WRA_Hoops wing @DamariusOwens1 in @TheCityRocks win over Team Thad. Owens had 33 points and was 6/6 from 3-point range, also grabbed 9 rebounds and made several impact defensive plays! Marquette is getting a good one!"

Marquette: "I really like Shaka Smart. He is next level. The stuff their program did this year was crazy. Everyone did not feel they were going to be too good but the season they had speaks for itself."

Most of the press here in Pittsburgh feel that Parham isn't going to Pitt - they're saying MU or X.  Their take is that if Pitt were the true choice, he would have been around games, etc., much more often.  I don't necessarily buy that, but do think that we have the edge tomorrow.

I hope he chooses MU, but it would be interesting to see the reaction to him choosing Pitt, being that he's not close to a top 50 guy.
