I'm guessing Buzz clocks in at 5'10". which is taller than your casual PTM.

I like to picture my PTM wearing a tuxedo t-shirt.

I see 4 guys 6'8 or taller.
Not bad.
First time I can recall MU having that since I started watching them.
And previously at least one of them was always a dork from Minnesota!

KO's Sweet 16 team, 2003 Final 4 team, and some team in 1977.   "It's a guard's game", no?

A slightly more educated guess.

I scaled it off a printed picture, and then drew the lines so they may be off.

This truly is one of the greatest treatment of a debate/issue on this board.

Kudos.

This is freaking awesome, but I'm going to be that nerd that points out the scale is slightly off for any other nerds wanting more accurate heights to hopefully put this height dilemma to rest.
There is a perfect reference already in the pic which is top row of the bleachers.  Just use an iPad and zoom in on their head and compare the difference with the top of the bleachers.

Deonte and Duane aren't happy sitting next to each other. Expect one, if not both, of them to transfer mid-season.

Nah, heard from a friend of a friend that Wainwright gave them a  warning before the photo for something they did. He told them next time he would take their souls...

Noticed Mayo is wearing same shoes as the team plus he is smiling. Guess that means he is not leaving after this year as some have speculated.

I've been really busy so I might have missed something but I notice that Fr Kelly is missing. Is he still the Team Padre? MU has always had a Jesuit on the team.

Yes, he was introduced at madness with the rest of the team.

Photos don't lie.  When will the true player heights be listed on this year's roster?  It's certainly an uplifting feeling knowing that we finally have a tall team.

Or weight?  I noticed that Davante's stats say he is at 290.

LOL... what does one have to do with the other? I think he is smiling because he wanted to... but his mom and big brother were in the crowd as well. That would make me smile too.

As far as where he goes next year lets get through this year first shall we?

That is another thing....I could never understand the importance really of height nor how they measured it.

Do you measure by the tip of some guys pointed head or by the level of a guys shoulder and if one is slightly more rounded then another then he is taller????

Never thought that was a big issue. I always go on if a player plays longer or plays taller then whatever his height might be.

I go on wingspan now and vertical leap. What if a guy's top of the head or even his hair is such that makes him looker taller is just misleading.

By the naked eye Jameel might be the tallest cat on the team...and play the tallest.

And in the Madness thread talk about how he was wearing black shoes, while the whole team had baby blue ones, and him being selfish and not part of the team mentality

Then you'd have to figure out how far away the bleachers are.

And you'd have to figure out how far the camera is from the players

And you'd have to figure out how far below the top of the bleachers the camera was when it took the picture.

At that point, using trigonometry, you could come to pretty much the same conclusion that PTM did using MS Paint.

If there's one thing MU Engineering taught me it's that Microsoft Paint can help you accomplish anything.

That and all homework is "cooperative"

Don't know if this is accurate or not but the official Big East media guide still list Steve as 6"7. His weight did go up though, 235 now.

This pretty much sums up what I was going to post. I really wanted to use the rim height, but even that's going to introduce some distortion.

Here's how we settle the debate:

There's apps that will calculate height of an object in a picture if you know the distance away when taking the picture. Someone send their child up to Steve for picture, stand 5 feet away, snap picture with the App and this debate is over.

All we know for sure is that Jamil was measured this summer at 6'7" in shoes......

Just meant to use the top of the bleachers as a reference line since its parallel to the floor they're standing on. U can use that to line up the other lines to make sure they are parallel.

I heard an Al story that he would actually list a player (say George Thompson) under his actual height so the opposing teams would be overconfident. So why mess with the 6'7" listing?

That and PTM's awesome guide would imply that Steve is closer to 6'6" (in shoes) and Gardner is a tad under 6'7" (in shoes).
