Think the Toronto fans are feeling squirmy?

Seems like a good situation for Dwight. Hope he kicks butt!

Actually it's on a NBA roster at the start of a season when you are considered a NBA player per the NBA...but don't tell Lenny.   ;)

He signed a multi-year NBA contract. Best Jerel ever got was a multi-day contract. For now, I'll say advantage Dwight.

Wow, who could have predicted that?  Oh wait, I did... http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=21489.25

Gotta tip my cap on that one.

He showed some taletn at MU, I'm glad he kept at it.

I normally don't like to brag but couldn't resist after reading the follow up posts from mklenn, 4everwarriors, MUfan12, PuertoRicanNightmare, and Tom Crean's Tanning Bed in that thread.

Wow, great call.

Congrats to Buycks; he's earned it.

Smiling out loud at work - I had forgotten all about Nomorebuycks - I had forgotten Eford's prediction - I wish I had forgotten a certain layup attempt. Did get to see him play in the Summer league a couple of times, and damn, he looked good!

Congratulations and good luck, DB!

Definitely.  He had all the tools, just needed more time to bring it all together.

Congrats Buycks on joining the ever growing list of MU players in the league.

Well done.  That was a fun read and I'm glad I didn't weigh in on that prediction.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Congrats to Buycks. I'll have to add Toronto to the list of teams I watch. Proud to say that list seems to get longer every year!

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

5 straight years where a Marquette guy has made it to the league. Chicos has that for a 5 year plan?
Bring back FFP!!!

I absolutely LOVE it. I saw Buycks at an AAU event when he was a HS freshman.  I remember saying that he was really good, but too damn short and skinny.  Then he gets to MU and I thought, "gosh, if he only had another year or two to develop."  DB is a classic late bloomer.

Great for him and the MU family.  However, I can never, ever forgive him for driving to the basket with a 1 point lead over Louisville with 12 seconds left his senior year.  Yes, that was the game MU blew a 16 point lead in the last 6 minutes.  I was at it.  It is still painful to remember or talk about.  Gotta go. Time for my sedative...

Awesome news for Buycks.

Don't disagree....I'm just telling you when the NBA counts him as a NBA player...when he is officially on a roster during the season.

I'm happy for Dwight, extremely happy.  I still scratch my head why you were so upset and defensive for so long about Jerel.  I can only imagine what the root of that was.  ;)

Your logic:

1. Someone praised Buzz
2. Must compare Buzz to Crean, in a snarky way if possible and use a smiley face.

What the hell, man.

Your logic, ignore hypocrisy when you see it and it happens here all the time.  Should we go through the threads where OMG MU didn't go past the Sweet 16 because they had 3 NBA guys on the roster or whatever it was.

I don't ignore it.

And again, I'll take it more seriously when you dole out equal feigned outrage when it is done by others.

Here's an opportunity for you.   http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=39249.msg504947#msg504947

There's a difference between a bunch of undrafted players and 2nd round picks on one college roster and 2+ lottery picks on one college roster.

We R Final Four

Jucos to MU to NBA. Jucos to MU to NBA.

In a short period of time and out of necessity Buzz has turned MU as a destination for the top in the country. The beauty now is we no longer need jucos--they need us. What an impressive job. The top jucos in the country now must consider MU-not to mention every Juco coach praying to the Lord that one of his kids makes an NBA roster. Well, at MU they do son. Love it.

Well, I guess that proves just how irrelevant "what the NBA counts" is. Henceforth we can ignore them.
