Hey Bieberhole, if there is one thing that I found out, its that if someone disagrees with you on this board, they resort to name calling.

I think it's safe to say if you would allow a recruit to do blow just so he would commit here, you are a moron.

That thinking is beyond stupid.  Moron wasn't strong enough in my opinion.

So your saying if Diamond Stone told buzz that he wants to go to Marquette for the parties that Buzz would all the sudden say "You know what Diamond I think we can move on without you, but thanks for showing up"     Dont kid yourself, Buzz is like all of us he wants the best players

The problem is:

If a kid is really coming to MU for the social life, he will never make it through boot camp.

Buzz is a demanding coach. MU is a demanding program. It's not for a lazy player who loves parties. Those guys won't make it.

I think you getting this upset about a hypothetical situation in which two high school kids doing drugs with hookers on a visit to Marquette is beyond stupid

If a recruit picks us because we're the top party school with the best looking/ most willing women of all his D1 offers - well, he either has very few offers or is in for a big disappointment.

Seriously I don't get why some here think there is no middle ground here. A player who wants to know that there is an active social scene on campus doesn't always equate to "a lazy player who loves parties."

I knew plenty of guys at MU (bball and track athletes included) who liked to go parties, didn't always drink but were there and had fun; then would be up at the crack of dawn in the library or gym getting there stuff done. Is every student that likes to go out a bad lazy student? I would have hated being your roommate.

And now something relevant to JuJuan Johnson:

Seems like he prefers Bama over MU based on what he said, and that maybe Milwaukee's Finest were pressuring him a little too much to commit.

Alabama has proximity and sounds like instant playing time. They'll be tough to beat. Goods news? Moms love Buzz.

Sprewell, Latrell 1992-

Sprewell is listed as a current player because while he doesn't have a team, he's still a free agent waiting for some team to offer him enough so he can feed his kids.

The recruitment of Johnson has been really strange. The boards never seemed to get too excited about him, some people even got mad b/c another poster suggested signs at madness and lots of tweets to him all weekend.

Now people are saying he hated madness and arguing over whether or not we should have taken him to a party.

Come on people be positive and let's hope we land another top 100 recruit!

You are right, but I was responding to this quote specifically:

So your saying if Diamond Stone told buzz that he wants to go to Marquette for the parties that Buzz would all the sudden say "You know what Diamond I think we can move on without you, but thanks for showing up"     Dont kid yourself, Buzz is like all of us he wants the best players

If a player tells a coach that his primary reason for coming to MU is the parties, that player probably isn't going to have the mental fortitude to make it in Buzz's program.

Put it another way: 95% of the kids currently enrolled at MU couldn't make it as a basketball player. It's a tough gig. Make no mistake. If you sign up, you better be prepared to be pushed to your limits and beyond every single day.

I think Jajuan is going about it the right way.  He'll spend a few days weighing the pros and cons with his mom.  It would seem that each school has something to offer that the other schools don't.  In the end I hope he chooses MU but will certainly understand if he decides to stay closer to home, for example.  I must imagine that his mom was thoroughly impressed by Buzz and can appreciate what Jajuan's commitment to MU could mean for his future.  Let's be patient and allow a family their time.  And thank you very much for considering our school and program.

Thank God, Fox screwed things up over there.

This thread is now mildly entertaining!

BTW, Jajuan knows if he wants playing time immediately. MU is a great scenario. With Otule, Jamil and Davante heading out the door, he can slip right in and be that dominating player inside and outside the post.

Based off these fresh new posts from current students and recent grads, maybe I can direct my next donation to the Admissions office.

Where did you get that?  He was pretty non-committal to all of them and lists the general pros.  He says about MU, "it was good" vs "it was cool" for Bama.  The only pro he lists of Bama is that it is close to home.  With Miami, it was playing time. To me, he is saying MU is winning and teammates.

I think it is safe to say that he didn't call Grant and committ last Sunday. Not saying that he won't but I think that he is taking his time.  We will see this week.

Do you honestly think that any recruit ever has told the HC "I'm comin' here for the awesome parties"? Not at UNLV, not at UCLA and certainly not (of all places) at Marquette.

Are you thinking of Embiid? Johnson is a 6'5" scoring wing, don't see him taking many of the minutes Gardner or Otule leave behind.
