What fighting weight goal did Buzz give Devante for next season?

MarquetteNation

Saw Davante on my way to class the other night...he was about a block away but it definitely surprised me out thin he looked.

Davante was at 276 in Phoenix, put on weight since then because of off-season/injury recovery.

Buzz has said in the past that 265 is the goal, but I'm not sure how attainable that is.

I think losing 10-15 lbs of fat is not insane for a guy starting at 275 (approx).

260-265 is a good playing weight for him, but really it's about body fat and stamina more than just weight. His BF is still higher than it should be, and that prevents him from playing extended minutes with consistent effort.

My bet would be that his lung capacity and cardio is actually pretty good, but he's carrying around more fat, so he's exerting a lot more effort than everybody else.

In reality, it would be nice to see him cut down to 245, and then maybe put some lean muscle back on, but I just don't see that happening for a guy who they count on for min. That's more of a redshirt/long term plan.

I would love to see him get down to 255 or 260. He is great inside threat but liability on pressure D. My guess is he comes back around where he finished last year.

I would think he will have to eventually get to the 250-255 range to look like an NBA player.  I have to assume he is thinking about that with 2 years left.

And you would know because????

Let Davante and Buzz decide this, along with Davante's doctors.

Don't we have anything better to talk about?

Absolutely not.  This is one of the more relevant threads recently.

I think Devante would look hilarious at 245.  I think when people get famous or well known as fat, the least they can do is stay fat.  I still can't look at Drew Carey or Jonah Hill.

Crowder weighed 250 last year and is a few inchs shorter DG.  I think the lightest he has ever been on any weigh in Might be 265.  IE he played most of the year last year probably at 270 before his injury.   He is not going to be 245.  As he loses weight they are also going to be adding muscle to his frame.  I see him at 265 with hoepfully shifting 5-10 pounds from last year into Muscle.

My post was not meant to be negative, or imply Davante is doing anything wrong. It was just an observation based upon being a basketball fan and having some minor league knowledge about fitness.

Luckily Jonah Hill has porked back up.
