The quest for the double bye

Written by: Mark Strotman

Georgetown winning out?  That seems pretty bold.  3-2 for Marquette seems to be a decent guess.  What our guys need to do is to steal a couple on the road.  2 out of 3 against our remaining road opponents should be considered a real accomplishment.  In a neutral site, I believe we're better than all three teams.  A 1 win road performance magnifies that Georgetown game on senior day.  Plus the all important NCAA seeds remain on the line.

The more I have seen of UConn, West Virginia, and Cinci the less I have been impressed with them.  To expect a 3-0 record would be dumb of me, as winning on the road in the Big East is tough regardless of opponent, but I think we are a significantly better team than all 3 of those teams are.  It would not surprise me to see us win our last 5 games.

Bold statement to be sure, but getting Notre Dame at home and then a game against Marquette that Marquette may or may not have Gardner for was what pushed Georgetown to winning out. Again, just one man's opinion. Thanks for the reads, fellas.
