They have a weekly power rating which to paraphrase is the author's opinion of the 16 teams who are the hottest at the moment.  Guess it's something to look at but not sure it says anything.  Since we haven't played in a week it's hard to be one of the hottest teams.  It is different than their top 25 plus 1.

Correct, I think he had us as high as #3 like a month ago (when their 25 and 1 and our actual ranking was obviously lower), but as noted it's a complete recency bias observation. So really not something to.pay attention to, though I do regularly read it.

1, 3, 5, 6 all playing ranked teams today.
4 is on the road today, 7 on the road tomorrow (and already lost).

Definitely holding off for those results to predict anything.

I can't imagine that a close road loss to Kentucky will hurt Florida too much. IIRC, MU barely moved after losing at Iowa State.

Keep in mind that a lot of the voters are really stupid and the reason we barely dropped after the ISU loss was because some voters moved us up on their ballot because they clearly didn't watch/pay attention to a Wednesday night game on Peacock, and only saw us beat Madison that week. We may or may not pass Florida, but there's no doubt that there were a lot more eyeballs on that game than the MU/ISU game.

Won't hurt much, but they'll at least fall to 9. They will be below us and Kentucky.

The MU-ISU game was on ESPN+ ... but point taken.

Not sure I'd automatically slot Marquette ahead of Florida if I were voting, but I haven't thought about it much. And I'd welcome it happening because I always like our heroes to have the highest rank possible.

Yes, worst-case scenario is we stay at 8. Could get to 7 or even 6, but I'd expect 8.

I'll go 7 too. Florida hasn't won an away game. Their best win is vs. Kenpom 35. Marquette has wins vs #'s 21, 25, 26. And they will pass Kansas.

But could see a world where Florida stays ahead of us and we're at 8.
