SJU now 3 - 0 (first ranked opponent they have beaten in the last 14 attempts)
GT now 1 -2

Is Georgetown the most overrated team in America right now?

ChicosBailBonds

Love it...especially since I had SJU in the NCAAs this year.  Looking good right now.

SJU looks awfully dangerous. Lavin doing a great job so far.

He also walked into a very good situation.  10 seniors is a wonderful thing to have when you're coming back into coaching, a very nice security blanket.  Having Gene Keady next to you on the bench isn't half bad either.

That game against St. John's is looking more and more daunting. I'm supposed to work that night...might have to make a trade to get that one off. Really glad we're playing them at home (though considering how they've been on the road...).

How can anyone love it? SJU is going to be fighting for a bid with us. Gtown will get one no matter what. St Johns looked good at times with Hardy being a real player and they play good D, but Gtown handed this game over. They played terrible. Chris Wright kept taking NBA 3's........and missing.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Good points but it certainly was a fantastic game to watch.  That SJU guy that brought it down at the end almost broke the GU guy's ankles with that shake n bake..  I will call that a beautiful pass off the backboard.

SJU looks tough and fearless, with a few pretty talented players. Georgetown looks overrated; they seem to always underperform, IMHO.

I don't worry about other teams, I worry about what we do.  If we take care of business, it won't matter.  On a personal level, I like Steve and have since he was out here at UCLA....always had very nice professional and social interactions with him.  I think it's great that St. John's is relevant again.

Is Keady Lavin's Dale Layer?  (Did I write this correctly?)

Or at least terribly inconsistent.  A very strong OOC resume last year, then fell flat in the regular season and had a couple people here crying overrated until they made the BET run, seemed dangerous for a minute until losing to mighty Ohio in the tournament.

I had money on G'Town minus 3 and it was pissing me off seeing Wright take those NBA 3's.... especially on a few where he very easily could have stepped up for an uncontested regular 3 but opted not to.

Sounds like the Johnnies are for real. Just makes me even more excited for the rest of the BE season. Every game will be a good game, well except whoever plays Depaul....
Warrior in the class of 2011.

I thought that was Gene Keady, but I convinced myself that it just couldn't be.

No. Not even close.  Show me a team in the country that can boast 3 road wins like G'Town (@ Old Dominion, @ Mizzou, and @ Memphis) this early in the season.  And yes, I realize the Mizzou game was played in KC.

I didn't attend UCLA and have no emotional interest in the school other than as an outside perspective.  I hold my own school and coaches to a higher standard.  UCLA has been on probation in the past and will likely be again down the road, which sucks but that's how they've chosen to operate.  So to answer your question, no, he didn't make me squirm because I had not vested interest in UCLA.

MU, on the other hand, has never been in serious trouble with the NCAA and I'd like to keep it that way.

Georgia Tech and SJU?  You'll have to help me, I have no idea what you're talking about with that reference.

PS: For someone that hates this board so much, you sure are here a lot.

I'm talking about Lavin now, not what happened at UCLA.

GT is the abbreviation for Georgia Tech. GU is the correct abbreviation for Georgetown.

PS: We have discussed this privately. Not going to get in it with you again.

Got it, so the GT thing was for the thread starter...that's what I didn't understand.

I'm not aware of what you're talking about with Lavin, I'll have to go back and read your PM.
