Knight to Kentucky
« on: April 14, 2010, 08:26:22 PM »
http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=44030

This is big because is gets us closer to that ever elusive win against Syracuse.

On this note, though, as an MU fan do we want Syracuse and UConn getting top 10 recruits and making the Big East the conference?  Or do we want to have it easier to win?

As someone motivated to post this, I would lean towards a winnable league.  It's still tough enough.  We are close to having a team who can win this league right now.

I believe that both 'Cuse and UConn were in his final five.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

NO FEAR!

If we want a winnable league, I'm sure that St. Louis would be happy to sponsor us to join the Atlantic 10.

You prefer finishing 4-8 in the conference but having the media talk up the league?  I don't want the A10, but itd be nice to win another conference championship at some point.  I wonder if the media would say the Big East was down if we were winning it anyway tho.

They'd say the Big East is down.  I don't want that to be the backdrop to our championship.

#1 2010 and 2011 player.

Calipari ain't even trying to hide it anymore.

Huge smoke on Calipari.  I'd be setting up a sting operation if I was the NCAA just for because of how much disrespect Calipari is showing them.

How stupid does Calipari think the NCAA is?  Or does he just assume they don't have the balls to do anything/will to stop a cash cow?

Since the BE Conference Championship is so easy to win, we should want a perfect setting for when we win one.

Alright, now I'm p*ssed off.  What is it with goodgreatgrand and all the other MU "fans"  who can't conceive of Marquette winning anything unless somehow the way is made easier for our poor guys.  We can't let DePaul get its program off the ground or they'll compete with us for Chicago recruits.  If we don't get a player, lets hope pray he lands in the Big Ten or Big 12 instead of the Big East because God knows if we have to play competitive teams for a conference title, we have no chance.  The School, Buzz and the recruits Buzz is bringing in are committed to playing and beating the best.  If the thought of playing teams with real talent causes all you woos-es to wet your pants, then consider becoming UWM fans so you can cheer for a team in a "winnable" conference.  Oh wait, UWM is in the Horizon League with Bultler, they'll never win there.  What conference does Wisconsin-Parkside play in?

I graduated in 1979.  I remember MU ranked #2 going up against Indiana's #1 ranked undefeated team.  I remember 1977.  I don't remember sitting around going; "Oh, Minnesota got a McDonald's All-American, and we play them next year!  We're doomed."  I know that a lot of people on this board graduated during some lean years, but for God's sake grow some balls.  I DO NOT WANT TO BE WINNING THE BIG EAST BECAUSE THE BIG EAST HAS DROPPED DOWN TO BEING THE 13TH BEST CONFERENCE IN THE COUNTRY.

The NBA should allow kids to enter the draft out of high school again. Brandon Knight is just going to waste Kentucky's money.

Ahhh, that's the beauty of it...  Kentucky is going to get far far more than Brandon will be able to spend.
