My post was not a hit on Howard, it was compliment to Kolek. Late in the game yesterday I was thinking there were a good number of general similarities to the Buffalo game. Two ranked teams, playing in early to mid December, great week night crowd and great MU wins and that is why I made the comparison.

It is not often you get to see a first team AA play on your team and last night he showed why. Great game by TK.

Tyler Kolek played an incredible game. He is a great competitor and true All American. I only wish he would have played as well against the rodents.

TyKo. Loved the intensity, after the first three he was pumping his fist and yelling as he came back on D. Several times during the game he showed some that same intensity and that pain in your ass TyKo, in your face edge. Got home from the game and when rewatching it, there is a clip of him getting on the floor then standing up and screaming LFG, that's what I like to see.

Fair enough, Goose.

We've been fortunate to get to see a few AAs in Marquette uniforms, and we're definitely lucky to get to see Kolek today. He's a hell of a player, a hell of a competitor, and a blast to watch.

Kolek's game last night very well might have been "better" than Howard's vs Buffalo. It was definitely different, and I loved it. Obviously, we both hope that TK delivers in March the way guys like Diener, Wade and Lee did. Then Tyler can truly take his place on Marquette's Mount Olympus!

I let myself dream like that on off days. On game days, I'm all about the present. I get great joy out of watching TK and the rest of Shaka's guys play basketball. We're so effen lucky!

Yes, MU has had some great players in their history, and all have been to watch. I agree that TK needs a run in March to be considered one of the all-time greats in school history. That said, I have mentioned several times that TK is the George Thompson of the Shaka/MU era. A recruit that was the foundation of building a winning culture. He gets extra points from me simply based off the significant role he has played in the big picture of the program.

That's reasonable and, I believe, accurate. Goose, you were very high on Kolek very early, even when he couldn't hit the side of a barn and lacked a driving game. Incredibly, he's turned out even better than your very high projections of how he'd play. We're very lucky to have a player of his talent and spirit in our program, hopefully taking it to heights not seen for decades!

Going with Tyler Kolek. Honorable mentions to Stevie Mitchell for defense and 6 rebounds and Chase Ross for playing awesome when the game was tight early on.
