As much as I enjoy beer, I would never miss a half of Marquette basketball for the right to pay ridiculous prices for crap beer, but I'm crazy that way. We're going to 2 games in February; we'll support local establishments before and after the game.

As for the O.P. and "nobody caring" if we beat DePaul ... I think most of us here care.

I don't care that people who don't care about Marquette basketball won't care after we crush DePaul tomorrow. And ESPN's crawl will still show our score -- with a #16 next to our name -- a couple dozen times an hour, too.

It was the sunk cost fallacy except with time.

Probably doing skylark or pleasant house beforehand. Frontier after.

I talked Reggie's wings up way too much to my wife, she expected points east, she got some good sauces.

Pig roast after?

Those pleasant house pies are dreamy. And their mashed potatoes are wonderful. I like the mushroom pie, my wife likes the chicken balti one. Can't really go wrong, though.

If MU beats Depaul by a million, no one cares.

If they lose, eternal shame.

So, this game stresses me more than playing at Uconn or X.

We only won by 20 ... and all of us care ... and we'll move up in the polls ... and our score will be shown 100 times the rest of the day/night on the bottom line with us having crushed the same team that beat Xavier in the same building.

We have to get over worrying about past stuff that has no bearing on the present. If anything, stuff like losing at Wintrust in the past or struggling down the stretch in the past will fuel this team to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Enjoy more ... worry less!

Amen.   And anyone pre-emptiveley mentioning February fade should be an automatic kick to the nuts...

The 2022-2023 Marquette Men's Basketball team will bury the past over the upcoming weeks. Talent, chemistry and a chip on the shoulder is a combination that is very difficult to derail. My advice to the negative folks, sit back and enjoy one of the most exciting MU teams in decades.

Good news for some, you do not need to know ball to appreciate this team.

I know it's human nature, but folks just gotta let it go.

If Scoop were around 20 years ago, every day there would have been folks talking about what we didn't do under Deane and Dukiet, and what happened the year before, and how that somehow proved we couldn't get to the '03 Final Four.

Imagine '03 scoop after the loss to UAB in the league tournament
Kam and the Warriors blowing it just like at Dayton. Bet your heads out of your asses.

Disagree ... if we won by 6, 20 or 36 our ranking Monday was going to be the same.

But! ... if any of the pollsters dig deeper (and I suspect not enough do) seeing the #1 Kenpom offense put up 89 on the road WITH their leading scorer hurt and on the bench will definitely impress.

You said no matter how much we win by, "no one cares."

Lots of people care.

Stop bringing yesterday's worries into this season.

add to the list:  quite a long drive for a home game.

Jinxed

You know and I know the February Fade jinx starts when Punxsutawney Dgies shows in MKE starting Wednesday. No MU wins in five years when his bald faced shadow appears.
