4 - is English your second language?  You seem to labor at it.

Meh, Markus
Howard is only a Stan Johnson
signee so
it really doesn't mean anything about
our program or it's future.  It means
even less about Wojo's leadership of the program.

***in all non BC seriousness he seems like a quality kid.  glad to have him.

Markus made the first round of cuts for the 17U squad.

I think he'll make the team and do well.. great experience.

MU fans don't appreciate what they are getting.. yet.

But, the rankings of him are off, so I understand why it's difficult for most to hop on board just yet.

Marcus Howard can make a difference on recruiting in the future, much like George did for Al.  The longer he stays with that team, there is always a chance he
can recruit another player to MU, lets hope.

The rankings may be off since he wasn't used correctly at Findlay Prep when many saw him playing on TV, gained some weight there and wasn't asked to play much defense.

Now he is showing he can play with the ball in his hands, is playing defense and apparantly has lost some weight.

More from the tryouts from Zagsblog

Point guard Markus Howard has been getting into the paint routinely and finishing with a soft right-handed floater. Howard is set to start at Marquette in July, but for now he is playing mistake free ball at the tryouts.

Good news, Marcus Howard made the cut to 18 players, are you all happy now I brought something positive!

Would have been better if I hadn't already posted the same thing at noon yesterday...

From Scout

2016 combination guard Markus Howard will head to Marquette to begin summer school in early July, but first he looks focused to help USA Basketball win another Gold Medal. Howard, who was on the U16 team last summer, showed up at camp and played with energy on both ends of the floor. Howard played with an edge, played with toughness and caused opposing players fits with his ability to defend the ball. To go with his defensive intensity, Howard shot the ball well from long distance. Howard can heat up in a hurry and is/was arguably the best three-point threat at the trials.

My only hesitation is that next year he is suppose to be a high school senior, which makes me wonder how physically ready he will be to play. We have seen a lot of typical freshmen that need more strength. I have no doubt that he is extremely talented and I was really impressed with the video he made with his brother to announce his school choice. He sounded like a very smart young man. The other thing is that I believe the year of experience Carter got last year gives him a huge jump on Howard, even if Howard is more talented. He also will be battling Rowsey for playing time.

Physically, he'll never be an imposing guy and will always be called 'small'

He's not a typical frosh.

His play up in EYBL, with USA BBall, with Findlay, at HS in Arizona, etc... you put it all together and you've got a stud.

If the ball is dropping in the net like it can for him, get ready for big time things.

Makes sense. a lot to write about.

I think we have been blessed to have Matty V he is on top of all aspects of MU basketball.
