and for f uck's sake, get a new board format Missouri.  That place makes UWM's board look sophisticated.

Central MO has been pretty damn good since Anderson has been the coach...of course...D2 ball is completely different. They could have found the next Bo Ryan....or a bust

No Howland again....

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Doing some quick Wikipedia research, doesn't seem like a horrible hire actually. The guy clearly loves Missouri as aside from being an alum he's had two stints with the Tigers and has coached DII Central Missouri for over a decade. If it's anything like Bo coming from a long stint in DIII, they probably have a good long-term solution.

True, but kind of a big "if." Any other current head coaches at power conference schools or schools that have had DI success recently who came from the ranks of DII or DIII?

Oh absolutely. It could be a complete disaster as well, and I kinda hope it is. No clue on the DII/III to high major jump success rate. Imagine it's fairly rare though.

Even Bo had 2 years at Milwaukee which is not in a so called Power conference, so this will be quite the jump.

Does he bring his recruits with?

Define long-term.  He will be 59 when he coaches his first game for Mizzou.

Bo would have done just fine in Madison without the stop over in Milwaukee.

Anderson was a D1 assistant for many, many years.  It would have been like Wojo going to a D2 school to coach between his tenure at Duke and his tenure at MU.

That could just as easily (or even more likely) be a result of bias in hiring as it could be an indicator of a disparity in talent in the ranks of DII or DIII compared to DivI.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Jim Larranga, and John Beilein both came out of those ranks.  Don't feel like doing any research to get a whole list.

Ben Howland must be

That SI article, combined with a few other things I read about Howland's last few seasons at UCLA, made me very happy we passed on him. Obviously, Marquette was not alone to be concerned. You hate to pay premium $$ for a coach and then have a toxic situation on your hands.
