More of the "no talent, don't know how they win press"

I usually find Charles Pierce an insufferable blow hard....now I know he is.  I love the press but this whole "I have no idea how they do it" bile is just lazy journalism.

FYI, in case you don't know (can't tell from your comments), but Charles Pierce is an MU alum.

I don't see why.  It is a great article.

You probably just don't agree with his politics.

He loves his alma mater.   He stands with the band the last 3 minutes.   He is giddy with excitement.   Just don't ask him to give a sound-bite answer as to how MU is doing it, because he can't.  What is so wrong with that?
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

The column is fine—and Pierce is an extremely talented writer.

I think you're going too far with the whole disrespect thing.  I thought this was a fabulous article at MU.

One of the few Pierce articles that I've actually enjoyed reading. Typically not a fan of his seemingly paid-by-the-word style.

That is a fantastic piece, both in terms of the emotional pull of being a journalist while still a fan of your school's team and his analysis of and bafflement over the team's play.

Love Pierce's writing.  This article is no exception.

This is an old favorite.

Why would you not enjoy this article?  It's great and probably expresses the view of many of the MU fans.  I have a hard time figuring out how MU does it, he just expresses it well.

It bothers me because it does a complete disservice to the coach of Buzz and the ability of the players to execute on a big stage.  The game planning last night was brilliant but it's more of the mo idea how it happens kind of stuff

I think it is paid by the comma.  Otherwise, glad he is jumping on the bandwagon.

Everyone needs a check with an extra comma.

First we're mad that there isn't enough coverage, then the coverage is negative, now the positive coverage isn't positive enough?   Policing the media is too hard.

I don't know how anyone could dislike an article written by the guy sporting this hat at the Final Four:

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Pierce is a complete blowhard.  But he's our blowhard and a ridiculously gifted writer.

This is another good one.  Not about MU or basketball...but man is he good.

Pierce didn't like the Buzz hire a few years ago, therefore nothing he says now should be taken seriously.

So what you're saying is that we give him the Chicos treatment?

Wait a second... Chicos is Pierce.  Pierce is Chicos.  Chicos is a man?  Chicos is a man!
