Who Does Butler Lose Too?
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:55:58 AM »
The last two times Butler lost a NCAA game was to Uconn (2011) and Duke (2010).  Both were national champs.

Additionally, Butler lost in the 2007 regional semifinal to Florida who went on to win the national championship.

... and lost to Florida again in 2000 who went on to lose the Michigan State in the National Championship game.

Their seems to be a tradition in beating Butler!

The only valid point you may have is the Florida loss.  The other two, UCONN and Duke, were in the championship game so they really don't count for the "loss to the eventual champions"

Why not?

+1

In 2011 and 2010 they lost to the national champion.  Just because it was the national championship game does not make this fact untrue.

The point is three times in the last 6 years Butler loses to the team that wins it all.  In 2000 Butler lost to a team that played in the national championship game.

We beat Butler and their is a history for the team that beats Butler!!

Maybe this is just me but I've always reserved that for when you lost in a round other than the championship game. It's like saying Marquette has lost to a team that has gone to the Elite Eight the last two years.

Losing to an eventual Elite Eight team isn't much of an exclusive club.  In fact, membership is 8x as much as the club made up of those who lost to the champion.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I understand that, I was pointing out the fact that when you're playing in the championship game you're obviously going to lose to the eventual champion. All I got from the OP was that when you play and beat Butler after staring on the opposite half of the bracket, you'll be national champions.
