Love this line:

Quote
Pilarz said he spoke with a president of a major university recently. That president, asked what the landscape might look like years from now, replied there will be two conferences: The ESPN Conference and the Fox Conference.

How could the biggest surprise to him be the Big East blowing up? Hard to believe that subject never came up during his interview process considering the rumor of BE falling apart have been around several years.

I would think the interview focus on academics and fund raising. Besides that it was annouced he would replace Fr. Wild almost a year before Fr Wild actually retired. Therefore, at the time of his interview I am not sure even Pitt and Syracuse knew they were jumping ship.

Obviously, but the rumors have been swirling for some time.
