Suspended for the rest of this winter semester and is eligible to return for the spring '09 semester! If I remember correctly, at their last game, the announcers said they just finished finals.  Some punishment

Hahaha what a joke.  Looks like Boeheim is taking a page from the Huggins or Pitino book.

I wonder what the cheer sheet will say for the Syracuse game......

How about holding up about 100 female big heads all at once all with black eyes?  Doesn't really matter if you get the girl in question's picture although that would be really cool.

An old school chant of "Devo beats women" could suffice.

Except for the fact that everyone on the team would know who it was and would be laughing at him

The 'Cuse board is blowing up about this...

My favorite topic was suggestions for community service for Devo.

They certainly love their white trash overrated white guards at 'Cuse.

Boeheim = bad dude

He is a very over-rated coach who has flamed out with more talent historically than any coach not named Steve Lavin.

Dickie V and Dan Shulman crapped all over Devendorf and the punishment. They noted how Devendorf didn't apologize once in his statement and noted it's the second time he's gotten in trouble.

A joke he could be back in 10 days.

Devendorf expected to return for Syracuse

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN.com news services

Syracuse guard Eric Devendorf has completed the requirements necessary to be reinstated, coach Jim Boeheim said in a statement released by the school Saturday.

He practiced with the team Friday night and was expected to play Tuesday against Seton Hall, though it will be up to Boeheim as to whether he will play and how much.

Devendorf, the second-leading scorer for Syracuse (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP), was ordered by the University Appeals Board to perform 40 hours of community service before he would be eligible to play again after he allegedly hit a female student.

Devendorf was suspended beginning with last Saturday's 72-65 win at Memphis (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 23 AP) and also missed an 82-71 win over Coppin State on Monday.

The school's appeals board ruled last Friday that Devendorf could petition to be readmitted if he completed the community service.

A decision by a judicial hearing board initially recommended suspending Devendorf, a 6-foot-4 junior, for at least the remainder of the academic year for allegedly hitting the woman on the jaw with the heel of his hand during an off-campus altercation Nov. 1.

the best one on the syracuse boards is this guy:

What would be really cool about that? If your sister got punched by some thug, would you want her picture used as a taunt in a basketball game?

Leave the poor girl alone. I'm sure she's suffered enough.

Absolutely. The people of the State of New York can proceed with a criminal complaint against him for violations of the criminal laws, but she could proceed with a civil suit as an individual for the injuries she sustained as well as punitive damages.
