So any updates on whether Pitino is recruiting Sheek Pearson, JJ Andrews, or Vaughan Karvala?
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Yep ... with a roster of players Self recruited out of high school, developed and retained. Most were 4th or 3rd year Jayhawks.

He then gradually began using the portal some. Kansas' record has gotten worse each year, and they've failed to make it to the second weekend.

Not a big enough sample size to conclude anything, but interesting nonetheless.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

The number of transfers Shaka takes will be roughly equal to the number of midrange jumpers he wants MU to shoot.

Just watched Alex Egbuonu for Lawrence Academy (MA). By my count, he had 18 points, 19 rebounds in a win over St. Sebastian's.
He'd look good at MU.

St. Sebastian festival is the end of Christmas here, late January to early February. He was martyred by archers, a Warrior
Goal is National Championship

One of the SportsCenter anchors used to refer to "the lost art of the midrange jumper" constantly. I wish I could remember who it was.

You are wrong there. He loves the action with female high school cheerleaders and lookers. It is in his DNA

Sounds like Kenny Mayne

So...any updates on the 2026 recruits? Sounds like we're in good standing with Alex.

Hopefully JJ and Sheek too?

Ethan Johnston is taking an OV here on Tuesday for the Providence game.  He is right up there with Andrews and Egbuono for 2026 wing targets.

Sounds like Karvala is going out to a prep school next year, we're still interested but he doesnt seem to be as much of a priority as the 3 listed above at the moment, which I am fine with.

We are in 2nd for Pearson behind ISU.  Gonna be tough to beat all of his family connections to ISU in that one, but it sounds like we're the only school who even has a chance.

I really appreciate the update. Andrews is my number one target (and I clearly drive the bus of the staff's recruiting priorities). If we could snag him, might it help on the Pearson front (then again, sometimes kids don't want to play together--I don't know their team dynamic from AAU)?

Interesting on the Karvala front. That said, he does look like he needs to get a bit stronger to meet the Scoop neck test. A year of stronger competition would be good for him.

Lots of good info here. Thanks again, JTJ3
