Quote from: TallTitan34 on December 10, 2024, 11:56:17 AMI forgot what podcast I was listening to but they described Marquette as a team full of cornerbacks.

I remember hearing the same thing. I think it was Rob Dauster during one of their DTF episodes on F68. Either that, or Robbie Hummel on his show with Goodman.

Quote from: PaintTouches on December 10, 2024, 12:48:10 PMI'd say it's a legit Q, which seemed crazy to suggest even 40 days ago. Stats through 10 games.

Thanks for these illuminating stats (and the stuff in your article). If there's a better all-around backcourt trio in the country, I haven't seen it. I do think that the improvement of Stevie and Chase on offense, the All-American-caliber PG play of Kam, and Chase's defensive presence as a 30+ minute player really does make this backcourt better than last year's with TK. Which is something.

I agree with Lenny that what could really make this already special backcourt even more incredible would be the emergence of a standout off the bench. It definitely could be Owens in the not-distant future, or maybe Sean really does return with full health and quickness. Or, best yet ... both!

I remember Wilfred dukes Duford & Dick Quinn leading us to a 19-2 season in 1922. Nobody's been on that level since
He's the one
Who likes all our pretty songs
And he likes to sing along
And he likes to shoot his gun
But he knows not what it means

Not sure which backcourt was better, but I'm confident this MU team is better than last year's team. Huge strengths (TO% on both sides of the ball) and no glaring weaknesses.

Quote from: Carl on December 10, 2024, 12:53:11 PMThis hits home for me. My wife is tired of me telling her that Chase Ross would be a starting safety at most Big 18 schools

Me: Derrick Wilson could have played RB at Stanford

My Wife: Well then he's a f-n idiot if he passed up Stanford to go to Marquette

I actually thought Jae was gonna be a TE after college. He made the right choice though
