I remember that too. I thought the 2006 movie We are Marshall was well done.

I was 7 years old when the plane I was on with my family, moving due to my father's new job, was cleared for landing at Chicago's Midway Airport. Just before the we were about to touch down, the pilot gunned the engine, and we were in a steep climb. There was another plane on the runway directly ahead of us that the controllers failed to take into account! I remember the attendants being thrown to the floor and items being hurled in the plane. It was one of those things that you never, ever forget.

Interesting GU flies on a regional jet for a 3 hour flight and MU flies on a larger than a regional jet for a 1 hour flight to Cincinnati. Maybe it's just a random data point but indicates we go A class vs B class.

What's the deal with all these plane mishaps lately?

I don't have an answer but things seem to be a bit out of sorts.

Purple Aces

Took a fight back from Dallas when the O2 masks deployed. Rapid descent to under 10k

Stewies looked worried. No communication from the pilots for 10 min.  Pressure loss.

Landed in Oklahoma and diverted to flight to Detroit.

Delta

WTF???  Can I at least trust my Singapore Airlines flight on Saturday?  I've come to the conclusion that all of the American carriers pretty much suck.  Did they ever figure out what happened with that guy in the wheel well on the United flight that landed in Maui?

Fat cat CEO's get their bonuses by cutting back on safety.  A few dead people or a fatter bonus?  The answer is pretty simple

I'd wear a parachute on the flight.

Number must go up so prices must go up and costs must go down.

Late stage, folks.

Better outcome than their Dec. 13, 1977 flight.

The only Purple Aces player who was not on the flight, freshman David Furr, was killed in a car accident two weeks later.

Damn.

I didn't see anything on the SuperBar discussing, but the crash in DC a few days ago and now the one just now in Philly are unreal.

The ring camera footage from the one that just happened today is quite unbelievable. What the heck?!

Small planes crash on a regular basis.   All are tragic.  The DC crash is going to take a minute.  With what has been released already, I can make a guess where the investigation leads, but I won't.  Prayers for the families of the deceased.

Agree with tower here. This one sucks too but if yesterday didn't happen it wouldn't be big news.

Fair enough. Feels like there are so many incidents of late. I guess I never realized small craft crashes happen on a regular basis like this. Exactly why I wasn't sure starting a new topic on SuperBar would accomplish anything. That answer is enough for me to move along.

Thoughts and prayers as Tower mentioned.

More information has become known. I was wrong and shame on me for jumping  to an inaccurate conclusion.

Prayers for the families of those involved.

Medical flight from Philly to Springfield, MO. 6 people on board, including a pediatric patient.

My wife flew a patient back from Stanford during her fellowship in Milwaukee. She sent pictures of the plane and it is tiny. Small enough they had to land in Nebraska to refuel.

It's a miracle as reported that no one on the ground was injured or killed in both accidents.
