Huh, hey?
I think it's best for both the players and the program if TK and Oso go pro. While next year may be a bit of a retooling without them, I believe we've seen the current team's ceiling and am looking forward to the future and watching a new squad.

Will that new aquad you are watching have a higher ceiling than this squad?
So, maybe?

Especially with Sean Jones injury situation I think it would be better for the program if Kolek came back.
Probably not better for him unless he really wants to play another year and doesn't care about postponing playing professionally for a year.

He is a professional now and would likely make more money at MU than in any league other than guaranteed NBA first round money (including a two-way). A two-way player makes between $75-$250k.

Most highly competitive and skilled athletes don't think about, "What if I don't make it?" They assume they can compete and they really want the chance to do so.

No chance.
It may be considered a pipe dream by most that both come back, and suggesting otherwise might be frowned upon, but it is definitely NOT better for the program if Tyler goes pro.
It's also not DEFINITELY better for TyKo if he goes pro either, as no one really knows what the future holds.
Marquette comes in as a top 5 team and national title contender if TyKo and Kam both return, especially if Shaka dips into the portal for some help.
Marquette is a not likely a top 25 team if Tyler goes, depending on the portal.
What if TyKo comes back, Marquette wins a Natty and he goes on to be a top 25 pick, and then has a serviceable and long NBA career? What if that happens and he wins PoY?
You might think "well that's insane," but it's not that far fetched.
That would mean that coming back would be better for BOTH MU and TyKo.
I get the stuff about the future, but the future is now. One FF or Natty run would transform the program and university more than "moving on and letting the next guys have their chance."
I also get that it's likely a long shot that both return, but there's no reason to shy away from the idea that it's possible as long as we hear that it's definitely not.
Dont get angry if he leaves, since it's his decision and he would be following his dream, but don't discount that maybe his dream includes some of the things mentioned above
If Tyko and Kam both return, MU has no scholarships. So, 'dipping in to the transfer portal' requires a player to leave.

$85k in Rio Grande Valley or $2million in Milwaukee competing for a national championship? What to do?
I noticed from the revolving transfer portal that $$$ no matta.

Most second-round picks last year got multiyear, guaranteed contracts.
The highest drafted player who didn't - other than those who chose to go to/stay in Europe - was the 41st overall pick.
So, unless you believe TK won't be among the first 40-45 picks (in this draft?), he's probably going to do quite a bit better than $85K in Rio Grand Valley.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2023/07/2023-nba-draft-pick-signings.html
Edit: And the longer he stays in college, the further he gets from that second (third?) NBA contract, where the real money lies.

I asked that question a few days ago and someone said after the banquet which makes sense. Banquet is this Wednesday. I'm predicting we hear their intentions on Friday of this upcoming week.

Celebrating Kolek and Oso on Senior night, posting thank you seniors NIL merch on social media with the shirts being Kolek and Oso tells you everything you need to know.
To answer the question of "What if he comes back and turns himself into a top 25 pick? What's he costing himself?" Probably he first round contract he'll get this year.

You are most likely correct, but as a counterpoint Scheireman was honored in 2023 and came back:

Point is that those kids deserve the recognition for being seniors regardless of if they use their Covid year or not.
As a bias fan I've been trying to come up with any remotely reasonable argument for tyko to return and I just can't.

Again, most ultra-competitive athletes don't think they'll end up in Rio Grande Valley.

"Willn't" would be a much better contraction to stand in for "will not" than "won't" is.
Whoever thought of "won't" was just trying to be difficult, because it doesn't even make sense.
Not to mention "wont," which is a word but certainly was not the word the OP intended to use. Although ... maybe misusing words is the OP's wont.

In hopes of derailing yet another thread, I'll say that I'm a big fan of the contraction y'all. While viewed as a term that ignorant, non-American English-speaking folks from the south use, it is an effective plural of the pronoun 'you', filling the gap that we and they leave in our language. I'm sharing this insight as an elitist New Englander, who might typically be wont to denigrate the spoken words of southerners.
One of my grammar school teachers used to always say "Ain't ain't a word and it ain't in the dictionary". Jokes on him, I guess.

Darn Brits. If only they spoke English.
And one more thing - some pronounce won't as "woont" and others as "wohnt." Neither is my wont, however, as I'm sticking with willn't.
